Fatigue Risk Management Systems for Business
The world of business is changing. Numerous studies have shown that long working hours not only harm workers' health, they are also bad for productivity. More and more UK businesses are adopting a 4-day week, and the pandemic has given rise to more home working and flexible hours. Whatever your business model, a fatigue risk management system (FRMS) can help to keep workers safe and minimise risk to a business. We will work with you to understand your business, your employees and your workpatterns, to develop a bespoke FRMS that best suits your business.
Fatigue Management Workshops
We can deliver workshops tailored to managers, employees, or all staff, which explore the causes of fatigue, and the associated risks, both to the individual and to the organisation. We provide advice on how to identify fatigue and potentially harmful practices, as well as offering practical solutions for the monitoring, management and avoidance of fatigue.
Individual Advice and Support
We can offer strategies for individuals to manage workload, minimise stress and maximise quality of sleep. This can increase productivity, improve mental well-being and promote better physical health.

Throughout a career which has involved 16 years in the Royal Air Force and over 15 years in the commercial airline industry, I have had first hand experience of fatigue, and the risks it can pose to individuals and organisations. The knowledge I have acquired, and the strategies I have adopted to protect myself, my colleagues and my passengers, are not just applicable to managing teams in a war zone, or staying alert at 40,000 feet over the Atlantic at two in the morning. They are equally relevant to business, industry and all aspects of life. I set up Buzzard Fatigue Management to share my expertise, raise awareness of the risk that fatigue poses to all of us, and provide practical help to keep people safe in an increasingly hectic world. With the rise in flexible and home working, it has never been more important for employers to focus on and prioritise their workers' physical and mental well-being, and minimise the organisational and personal risks of fatigue.
